Background Story: More than five hundred years ago, clans of dwarves and gnomes made an agreement known as the Phandelver's Pact, by which they would share a rich mine in a wondrous cavern known as Wave Echo Cave. In addition to its mineral wealth, the mine contained great magical power. Human spellcasters allied themselves with the dwarves and gnomes to channel and bind that energy into a great forge (called the Forge of Spells), where magic items could be crafted. Times were good, and the nearby human town of Phandalin prospered as well. But then disaster struck when orcs swept through the North and laid waste to all in their path. A powerful force of orcs reinforced by evil mercenary wizards attacked Wave Echo Cave to seize its riches and magic treasures. Human wizards fought alongside their dwarf and gnome allies to defend the Forge of Spells, and the ensuing spell battle destroyed much of the cavern. Few survived the cave-ins and tremors, and the location of Wave Echo Cave was lost. For centuries, rumors of buried riches have attracted treasure seekers and opportunists to the area around Phandalin, but no one has ever succeeded in locating the lost mine. In recent years, people have resettled the area. Phandalin is now a rough-and-tumble frontier town. More important, the Rockseeker brothers - a trio of dwarves - have discovered the entrance to Wave Echo Cave, and they intend to reopen the mines. Unfortunately for the Rockseekers, they are not the only ones interested in Wave Echo Cave. A mysterious villain known as the Black Spider controls a network of bandit gangs and goblin tribesin the area, and his agents have followed the Rockseekers to their prize. Now the Black Spider wants Wave Echo Cave for himself, and he is taking steps to make sure no one else knows where it is. -----------------------------------------------
Current Day: In the city of Neverwinter, a dwarf named Gundren Rockseeker asked you to bring a wagonlord of provisions to the rough-and-tumble settlement of Phandalin, a couple of days' travel southeast of the city. Gundren was clearly excited and more than a little secretive about his reasons for the trip, saying only that he and his brothers had found "something big," and that he'd pay you ten gold pieces each for escorting his supplies safely to Barthen's Provisions, a trading post in Phandalin. He then set out ahead of you on horse, along with a warrior escort named Sildar Hallwinter, claiming he needed to arrive early to "take care of business." You've spent the last few days following the High Road south from Neverwinter, and you've just recently veered east along the Triboar Trail. You've encountered no trouble so far, but this territory can be dangerous. Bandits and outlaws have been known to lurk along the trail. -----------------------------------------------
Out-Of-Character: - I encourage you all to introduce your characters at the beginning. Get to know each other, learn each others characters. It'll help out a lot. - I also encourage you to think about how you met "Gundren Rockseeker." Use your character sheets, background, and your personalities to help you with this. Be creative! - Two of you are riding in the wagon, one's driving. The rest are walking. Since this doesn't really matter to me that much, I'm just going to say first come, first serve (meaning, first person to post is driving the wagon, 2nd is the passenger, the other one is walking along side the wagon). Slightly sleepy, Creed looks back to see if everyone is aright. After turning back to the road, he finally talks to his companions for the first time. "So, how did you people meet the Rockseeker? Why are you on this journey to definite death?"

Perhaps you have half a century before you die—what makes this any different from a half hour?"

Hanson Toph, lost in thought and not one to speak to strangers, especially someone of such malicious blood as a Tiefling, looks away and says nothing.

"I see you are not one to trust a Tieflings such as me, Half-Elf. Good. May this insecurity help you on your way. Just so everyone knows, I'm not one that trusts any of you either."

...Is this trip really worth it? Being stuck with a Tiefling and whoever else on some item delivery trip? I could be on my own right now....

I've heard these lands are quite dangerous, we should watch out for any Bandits they may be lurking nearby.

"We don't need pointless insecurities, human. We haven't met bandits yet, and we have our things packed and know how to run. Regardless, did any of us really come for the gold? I came to know myself. To get something worth more than money back. To finally get back my memories and know who I am."

Hanson looks between the Tiefling and the full-blood human, smirking and shaking his head before looking away again.

Hanson, knowing that they both were seeking to get him to talk, says nothing still. Not telling to the human that he thinks full blooded humans and weak, vulnerable and altogether average; not telling the Tiefling that calling him insecure is insanely hypocritical. Hanson was only there to do the job and leave. No one and nothing else mattered.

"Huh, the School of Wizards. I met the guy fairly... weirdly. I woke up, not knowing who I am, and before I could ask what or who, I heard knocking on the door. I went down, opened the door, and there's this guy telling me that he wants to pay me to come on some adventure, and that he wants to know my name because no one told him.
His look was funny when I told him that I don't know my name either."

Hanson continues to pay the human no mind, especially considering the fact that he thought how he met Rockseer isn't of any importance.
