Sweet! I've got to ask. Do you have a lot of experience with D&D? Yes and no. I played quite a bit in Jr. High school, and then again when I was 18-20 a little bit. but it was like second edition. I am sure a lot has changed but I imagine the basics are pretty similar. What edition do you play these days. I am sure I can locate the proper players hand books and compendiums online.

Were playing D&DNext (5e) here. The thing is that the other people are all playing for the first time. You and I are going to have to kind of help the others learn how to play, haha. iodill also has somewhat of an idea on how to play, but nothing too deep or anything. I'm also fairly new too (I've done RPGs, just never a D&D RPG, but I imagine they're all similar with most aspects, and I've read the full book from front to back these past days or week). If I end up messing something up though, feel free to tell me so that I know. As you probably know, the books are large, there's a lot of information, so there's a chance I missed something or will forget something, haha. If you know how to make your own characters, and can get access on the D&D 5e book, you can make your own Character sheet by yourself if you want. I will need a copy of it though, obviously though. If you don't know how to make a character, I can give you access to a digital copy of the D&D 5e book if you want me to send you a pdf of it. Either that, or you can go through a long and slow process through pms like the rest of everybody else, haha.

The cool thing about all of us either being new or out of touch is that as long as we all agree on the game play and we are all having fun then who cares if we miss some of the subtleties here and there. Do they still make the expansion packs with all of the different cities, and lore of the land and stuff? those were cool and helpful for the DM when we played?

Not nearly as much anymore from my knowledge. They do have expansions, but it's not their main aspect. Pathfinder focuses more on expansion after expansion (I'll probably try that eventually too) while D&D focuses more on leading DMs to their own imagination and guiding them to create their own stories. Hmm, there's really no set time playing yet. I think once everybody gets their characters complete, we're going to start, but you don't have to feel rushed or anything either, haha. Just do it on your own time whenever you have time. Since I'm helping like 5 people create characters, our process is kind of slow (not too slow, but slow to the point where it will probably be tomorrow or Monday that I get done with them).

These expansions left the DM to their own story telling, they just kind of set the mood and tone like what type of creatures and land scape that sort of thing. The DM was still primarily responsible for everything else.

Sweet! You have the character sheets as well? (There are three. Main, which is always need, Character Detail, which would be very useful, and the Spell Sheet, which isn't really necessary unless you want it to keep track of spells in the easiest way).

Perhaps you have half a century before you die—what makes this any different from a half hour?"
